4 Days from Marrakech To Merzouga Trip

After a satisfying breakfast, we begin our exploration of Ouarzazate by visiting the famous Atlas Studios, known for hosting the filming of numerous iconic movies. Next, we explore the ancient Taourirt Kasbah, a remarkable mud fortress with a rich history.

Our journey continues towards Agdz, where we join the picturesque Draa Valley, the longest river in Morocco. Along the way, we’ll be treated to breathtaking views of palm tree groves, stunning Kasbahs, and charming Berber villages. Take some time for a leisurely lunch in Nkotb or Alnif.

Following our meal, we proceed to the captivating Sahara desert of Merzouga, passing through Rissani. Upon reaching the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, we switch to camels for a memorable ride across the vast desert.

We’ll make a stop atop a towering dune to witness the enchanting sunset. Continuing our journey, we arrive at our campsite, a unique blend of traditional nomadic tents and luxurious amenities. In the camp, you can indulge in the rhythmic beats of Berber drums, dance around the campfire, and marvel at the starry night sky. Delicious dinner and a comfortable overnight stay await you in the camp.

Wake up early to witness the stunning sunrise in the desert, followed by a leisurely breakfast. Return to Merzouga on camels, where your driver will be waiting. Depart from the desert and head to Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet and a bustling trading center with a vibrant souk that comes alive on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

After exploring the lively Rissani Souk, continue to Erfoud, where you’ll have the opportunity to visit a workshop showcasing fossilized marble. Drive through the picturesque Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves until you reach the breathtaking Todra Gorges. These majestic canyons, carved by the Todra River, feature high red cliff walls and are a popular destination for rock climbers.

Take some time to wander through the gorges and admire the stunning landscape. Enjoy a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to the Dades Valley, passing through Boumalne Dades. Make stops at the unique “monkey fingers” rock formation and a scenic viewpoint overlooking the Dades Valley. Finally, conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay in a comfortable hotel.

On the final day of your 4-day desert tour from Marrakech, we visit the Rose Valley in Kalaa M’gouna, known for its annual Rose Festival in May. Here, you can explore a variety of rose products, including perfumes, rose water, oils, and cosmetics, offered by the locals.

Continuing our journey, we drive through several Kasbahs, including the picturesque Amridil Kasbah surrounded by lush palm groves in Skoura. Arriving in Ouarzazate, you’ll have free time for lunch in the town. We then proceed to Marrakech, driving through the scenic Tizi-N-Tichka pass and the majestic High Atlas Mountains.

Finally, we drop you off at your accommodation or the airport in Marrakech, marking the end of the tour.
