On the first day of our 12 day Morocco tour itinerary. We pick you up from the airport, port or your accommodation in Casablanca. Casablanca is considered the economic center and the largest city in Morocco. First, we will visit the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Morocco, which is located on the west coast of the city. It is located on a promontory, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Free time for lunch. Then we explore the city and also visit the amazing Casablanca Corniche. Overnight at the hotel.
We walk along the coast to Rabat. One of the imperial cities in Morocco, and its current capital. It is located in northwest Morocco. You will visit the most prominent landmarks of the Moroccan capital. Among them: Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and also the Kasbah of the Oudayas. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon we head north through Ouazzane to reach the blue city of Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains. Overnight at the hotel
We will explore Chefchaouen, the blue city. They are also known as Ash’oun, which means horns in Berber. The city is located in the Rif Mountains in northwest Morocco. It is famous for its buildings and alleys painted in white and blue. First we will take a walk in the charming old town. Which contains many beautiful authentic blue doors and white painted walls.
Free time for lunch. In the afternoon you can walk to the Spanish Mosque. It is located on high ground, from where you can see the wonderful view of the entire Blue City. Finally, return to your hotel. Overnight in the same hotel.
Feel free to wander through the alleys of the beautiful blue city of Chefchaouen. Then we head to visit the ancient Roman ruins in Volubilis. It is so well preserved that it has been recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
It has many beautiful mosaics scattered here and there, in addition to ancient columns and arches. After walking among the ruins, we drive 30 kilometers to visit Meknes, the capital of Ismailia and one of the imperial cities. We visit Bab al-Mansour, the basin of the Suani Cistern, the royal stables, the granary, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Then we head to Fez. Overnight in Riyadh.
We dedicate a day to exploring the highlights of Fez with a local guide. The city is considered one of the imperial cities in addition to being the cultural and religious center of Morocco.
First, we start the day by visiting the Royal Palace Gate. Then the well-preserved medieval Medina, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You will visit the Blue Gate or Bab Boujloud, the entrance to the old city. Which looks like a maze of alleys and streets. You will enter the city to visit the Bou Inania School, the Najjarine Fountain, and the tanneries.
Finally, the Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque and University, the oldest university in the world. After that we leave Medina to visit the Jewish Quarter also known as “the Mellah”. In the afternoon, drive to the Old Citadel for a panoramic view of the Medina and Fez. Finally, return to your riad.
We head south via Imouzzer to visit Ifrane. The city is known for its low temperatures, snow and houses with Alpine-style architecture. No wonder it is called the Switzerland of Morocco. The Moroccan tour then continues for 12 days in the Cedar Forest, where the Barbary macaques live.
Feel free to feed them while wandering through the forest. We then continue to Midelt where we will have free time for lunch. Then we head to Merzouga via the Tizi-N-Talghamt pass and along the Ziz Valley. With stops for panoramic views.
In the afternoon, we reach the Great Merzouga Desert, where we turn on camels, and cross the sandy desert. You will stop at the top of a high sand dune to enjoy the sunset. Finally, you can continue to camp. It is a combination of traditional Bedouin tents and the luxury of a hotel. Where you can enjoy Berber drum music, while dancing around a campfire, under a wide-open sky of stars. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Waking up early in the morning is a must, in order to admire the beautiful sunrise, in the middle of the desert. Free time to eat breakfast. Then return on the camel to Merzouga where the driver will wait for you.
We dedicate the seventh day of your 12-day Morocco tour to exploring the Merzouga region. The area has many stunning sites, from sand dunes, wild lakes, mines and fossil areas to picturesque oases. They are ideal places for many outdoor activities.
First we start our trip in Merzouga, driving off-road to visit an old Kahl mine. Then we visit the Bedouins in their hand-woven tent. Learn how they live while drinking Berber tea. Our next destination is Khamlia village, where you will enjoy Gnawa music and dance performances. Its population comes from sub-Saharan countries such as Mali, Sudan and Niger.
Free time for lunch in a restaurant. After that we take a tour of the palm grove. Then drive a few kilometers to see the Merzouga Wild Lake, also called the Flamingo Lake. Finally, we return to Merzouga, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, we leave the desert to visit the city of Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani remains a major commercial center in the region, with a large, lively market on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
After a stroll through the Rissani market, we continue on our way to Erfoud where we visit one of the petrified marble workshops. Then we drive through Torque and Tanjadad palm groves to reach the Todra Gorge. The course of the Todra River has formed a large valley through the mountains, creating a high red valley on the cliff side. These valleys are an ideal place for rock climbers. Feel free to wander through the valleys and enjoy the beauty of the landscape.
Free time for lunch in a restaurant. Then we continue our way to Dades Valley via Boumalne Dades. Necessary stops at the “Monkey Fingers” rock formation, and at a place on the top of a mountain overlooking the Dades Valley. Finally, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
We continue our trip to Kalaat M’Gouna to visit the Valley of Roses. The Rose Festival is held annually in May. Where local residents offer their rose products, from perfumes, rose water, oil, to cosmetics. We then move through the palm groves of Skoura, before arriving in Ouarzazate, where we visit the studios where famous films were filmed.
We go to visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. The fortified village is recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Kasbah also appeared in many films, including: Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mumm. and TV series including Game of Thrones. Then we continue to Marrakech by driving through the Tizi n’ Tichka Pass and the High Atlas Mountains. Will stop for lunch and take pictures at interesting places. Overnight on the road, Marrakesh.
We will explore the highlights of Marrakech with a local guide. The city is considered one of the four imperial cities in Morocco.
The visit includes: Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Ben Youssef Quran Mosque, and a stroll through the largest traditional market in Morocco. Free time to have lunch near Jemaa El Fna Square. After that, you will visit the largest Koutoubia Mosque in Marrakesh, and the Majorelle Garden. Finally, move to your accommodation. Feel free to tour Jemaa el Fna on your own.
We head west to Essaouira. On the way we will stop to see argan tree goats. And also for panoramic views. We arrive at the former city of Essaouira Mogador, which is one of the important coastal cities in Morocco. There we visit the fishing port, the old walls with cannons, and also the old city. Finally, transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Essaouira.
On the last day of 12 days in Morocco. Depending on your flight time. We start from Essaouira and walk along the coast. Stops will be made along the way for panoramic views. Finally, we arrived at Casablanca Airport, the end of the tour.
